SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI

THE PATRON OF THE SCHOOL

The School is named after the immortal St. Francis of Assisi. According to a survey, he is the greatest man born during the second millennium. Men and women, regardless of creed or nationality, have acclaimed him as the world’s most influential social and religious reformer.

Francis was born in Assisi, Italy, in 1182 as the son of Peter Benardone and Picca. He received his primary education at the local St. George’s Church. At the age of fourteen, he joined his father’s business as a merchant. He enjoyed music and dance and was very popular among his friends. At seventeen he was drawn into civil war in the city. When he was twenty years old, Assisi was defeated in a war with Perugia and Francis was imprisoned. When released, Francis returned home in broken health. At the age of twenty three, he set off again to join the army but on the way he fell ill. During his recovery he had a mysterious dream which changed his life completely.

Clubs & Hobbies

Human Resource Development has been an integral part of the school curriculum. Various platforms are set up for the pupil to develop the latent potentialities so as to make a way for their creativity to shape through various clubs such as Nature Club, Music Club, Interactive Club, Sports Club, Rhetoric Club, Science Club etc.

St. Francis School also provides an environment for moulding fine arts, quiz and philately which refine and hone the latent talent of its young pupils and immensely enhance their personality.

“FOR GOD & COUNTRY” is the motto of ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL. To ingrain the value of “Service Before Self” and to inculcate the importance of duty to fellow being before expecting rights have been the constant endeavor of the School. The school aims at the integral development of the whole person, enlightened leadership, social responsibility and commitment to nation building. Over the years, it has built its own image, culture & ethos. It has excelled in the field of education and has striven to produce dynamic and socially useful citizens for our country respecting all castes, creeds and religions and above all upholding the core value of human dignity in the name of God and Country.

There are three major examinations in a year, i.e., Quarterly, Half Yearly and Final, besides internal assessments and regular class tests.The pass mark is 40%.

Message from the Principal

It is an honor and privilege for me to function as the principal of St. Francis School, Shamli. In the first place, I would like to thank the governing body of our school for this great opportunity given to me to serve at St. Francis School, Shamli.
Established on 13 July, 1985, school has grown to be a premier institution, staffed by competent, committed and highly qualified staff. We at St. Francis, aim to foster the ethos for the all-round growth and development of all our students by providing them quality education, motivating and empowering them to be worthy citizens of our country who endeavor to live up to the motto of our school “FOR GOD AND COUNTRY”.
